Knockengorroch World Ceilidh 2014

Hello Beautiful People!

The lovely Bethany and I got home from the Knochengorroch World Ceilidh 2014 nearly a week ago and I am yet to readjust to ‘normal’ society. My body is still in state of shock from 4 days of non-stop of dancing, festival food and next to no sleep. My back is still suffering from my thermorest dying on the first night, I’m still bearing the bruises from the Sunday afternoon Ceilidh (that Strip-the-Willow was pretty violent) and my brain is still trying to determine whether the insane journey in the back of a carpet van with 20 odd other soaking wet people plus luggage actually happened or not. But more on that later.

Life Is A Balancing Act

Hello Beautiful People!

I set myself a goal and low and behold two weeks later I’ve failed! I know I promised to upload a blog every week and I’m aware that last week’s didn’t happen, but in my defence I have been super busy! I know this is a fairly generic and over used excuse but hear me out guys!

My week has looked a lot like this.

Songs From The Shed and Fran Smith's EP

I came across Songs from the Shed about a year ago and really wish I’d found it sooner because it’s just bloody fantastic! Jon Earl’s fabulous shed, a former army billet, is treasure trove of curiosities and paraphernalia (as any half decent shed should be), that opens its doors to acoustic sessions from a huge array of eclectic musicians from pretty much every genre under the sun.  Some artists are household names such as Tim Minchin, Passenger, King Charles, SethLakeman, KT Tunstall, and John Smith to name but a few. Whilst some are less well known but by no means less talented, such as Nuala Honan, Hunter and The Bear, and the Carrivick Sisters. The performances in the shed are always incredible engaging as the musician’s personalities and passions shine through their performances.
