Edinburgh Escapades - Part 2

Hello Beautiful People,

One of the many good things about visiting Kate during my reading week is the amount of work I get done. Whilst Kate is at uni, being busy with lectures and labs, I can crack on with my reading and essays.  Tuesday was an intense day of work as Kate was stuck in uni from 9 to 7! And people say students are lazy! I kept myself busy catching up with my online theory lectures, placement applications and a sunny walk around the Meadows at lunch time.

Wednesday was a much more fun, although equally productive day. After a lazy morning (only on my part), Kate and I headed into town to spend an afternoon drinking tea and doing work, like the sophisticated women we (or at least I) most definitely are not. Whilst Kate went to set up base in Eteaket, I popped into Charlie Miller for a cheeky haircut, courtesy of the lovely Jodie, and to take advantage of their fabulous student discount.

Jodie's magic, tamed my mane!

Emerging, looking a hundred times more presentable than when I went in, I went to meet Kate in Eteaket. Kate had bagged us the sunny table by the window and arranged a little workstation for herself. I unloaded my books and we settled in for an afternoon of work, fuelled by fabulously tasty tea.

Eteaket is a gorgeous little teashop with the widest selection of loose leaf tea I have ever seen. Their menu goes on forever and making a decision is so difficult that going in for only one pot is not an option! They serve all the pots of tea with a timer so you can remove the leaf strainer when your tea has brewed to perfection. Kate enjoyed a selection of green teas, whilst I started with a classic Earl Grey, followed by Chai Latte and then Strawberry and Cream, which was so amazing I had to buy some.

We spent so long in Eteaket that we walked straight from there to our reservation at Yeni, a wonderful Greek Meze bar. Meze is a variety of small, hot and cold dishes, designed to be shared, and the choice at Yeni was overwhelming! We filled the table with Calamari, Baba Ganoush, Feta Börek, grilled Halloumi, Tzatziki and more.  Despite the manager’s insistence that we’d ordered far too much, we cleared the lot!

Full to bursting, we meandered our way home for a lazy evening in front of the telly.

Love
